ABOUT THE ROLE
Target Start Date: November 17th or later
This is a fast-paced, highly autonomous position for someone who naturally builds rapport and has a very organized, detailed and analytical mind. You must live and breathe specialty coffee, and be eager to do cold outreach to accounts to build and enhance relationships across cafes and foodservice accounts in the Eastern Region of North America. In this role you will strengthen relationships with existing accounts to ultimately improve top line revenue.
WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
The Cafe Account Retention Rep is responsible for strengthening relationships with existing wholesale cafe accounts and preventing customer attrition. This role ensures customer satisfaction through proactive support, insightful reporting, and coordination of programs that promote long-term loyalty. Working closely with the sales and marketing teams, this position serves as a frontline partner to wholesale cafes while also driving back-end analysis, forecasting, and retention strategies.
Account Retention & Growth:
- Outreach via phone or email (on rare occasions in person) to keep accounts connected to the brand, ensure customer & product satisfaction, and upsell with new products
- Be the key point of contact for ordering or service challenges, product inquiries, marketing support, activation opportunities, and marketing support.
- Liaise with regional selling team to share account updates, wins, risks and opportunities
Attrition Prevention:
- Analyze sales reports to monitor account performance, flag voids/declines, and track retention metrics
- Work cross-functionally to investigate and respond to causes of voids or declines, identifying patterns, and proposing and implementing solutions that retain accountsCompile and analyze sales reports to monitor account performance, flag voids/declines, and track retention metrics.
- Contribute to sales forecasting efforts by sharing insights from existing account trends, product movement, and potential growth risks.
- Work with the sales leadership team to develop tools that support strategic planning.
Internal Support:
- Be the eyes and ears for the field sales team with assigned existing accounts
- Contribute to sales forecasting and planning
- Collaborate with the marketing team to roll out account-level programs, merchandise or promotions
- Provide field-level insights and account health updates to the broader sales team to support retention efforts.
- Assist sales team with retention planning, re-engagement campaigns, and high-touch account initiatives.
- Support the development and execution of in-market activations or events that strengthen customer engagement and brand connection.
ABOUT YOUR TEAM
You’ll be reporting to the Director of On Premise Sales. Our sales team is broken up into 2 channels; On Premise (cafe and foodservice), and Off Premise (retail grocery). We are all coffee people and are very immersed in the coffee community nationwide but we are equally as passionate about all of our customers and segments of business!
Although the North American team is remote, we are a very close knit bunch. We might be a small team but we have a ton of drive and truly believe in our products. We like to build lasting relationships within our team as well as with our customers.

Some core skills and experience:
- Relevant account management experience within the Cafe channel
- Experience with cold calling and customer outreach; demonstrated ability to build relationships and rapport virtually.
- Deep knowledge of the coffee scene and area/geography of the Eastern region of North America.
- An entrepreneurial mindset and deep understanding of early-stage business
- Strong experience in developing, owning and driving market-level KPIs at various levels of an end customer.
- Detail oriented, highly organized and strong time management
- Must be adept and comfortable in MS Office Suite, Slack, Google Suite
- Experience with a CRM platform, preferably Copper
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- Genuine willingness to collaborate with internal teams to drive success

YOUR COMMITMENT
This role requires residence within the Eastern US territory. There will be required travel for account visits and events throughout the territory.
This role is an exempt role working 40 hours per week. The work schedule is (EST or CST) Monday-Friday between 8:00am- 5:00pm with flexibility for events/trade shows and other work related travel that may occur on weekends.
