ABOUT THE ROLE
The Group Financial Controller is a critical role to the success of the finance function. The role looks after key areas of Management Reporting, Financial Control, Finance Operations, External reporting/Compliance and Systems for our UK, European and North American operations and oversees a team of four. 

The primary objective of the role is to ensure accurate and timely reporting, efficient financial operations and the maintenance of a strong control environment, whilst ensuring all our global external reporting/compliance requirements are met. This is a global role, working closely with various teams across the business. We are a small but fast-growing team, and we expect this individual to roll up their sleeves and get involved in all aspects of the finance function
WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Management Reporting and Close Process

  • Full ownership of the monthly close & year end close process for the group ensuring the month is closed in a timely manner & numbers produced are reviewed & accurate
  • Production & continual improvement of the monthly Management Accounts Pack shared with the senior leadership team
  • Preparation of multi-currency consolidation of the group P&L and Balance sheet
Financial Control
  • Ensuring & overseeing a robust financial control environment across the group ensuring completeness and accuracy of data
  • Strong balance sheet control ensuring all accounts are reconciled and reviewed monthly.
  • Managing monthly stock reconciliation process cross the group monthly working with operational teams to ensure the right processes and controls are in place & reviewing monthly reconciliation and stock count outputs
Finance Operations 
  • Overseeing credit control and payables processes monitoring key KPIs & reviewing FX requirements
  • Responsible for monthly payroll process, working with 3rd party payroll providers
  • Reviewing, implementing and improving processes in finance ensuring we are automating as the business grows
  • Overseeing day to day and management of a team of four
External Reporting & Compliance
  • Management of group statutory audit & preparation and submission of Group year end statutory accounts
  • Working with our accountants for submission of year end corporation tax returns & annual tax filings across all regions 
  • Review & submission of monthly VAT returns in UK & Europe 
  • Reviewing and ensuring the financial accounting for the group ensuring the correct treatment of items regarding revenue, stock, intercompany and share options. 
Systems 
  • Full ownership of the group finance platform ensuring the right controls are in place and all functionalities being utilised.
  • Good understanding of operational systems ensuring the data flowing in to finance systems is complete and accurate, implementing controls as necessary.
  • Continuous improvement of systems processes and reporting 
ABOUT YOUR TEAM
You’ll be reporting into Vinay, our Group CFO and managing a team of four who are responsible for Accounts Payable, Credit Control & Management Accounts. You’ll be part of the wider Finance team, who love what they do and contribute to the growth of Minor Figures.

Now, let’s look at the experience we ideally need. You’ll need:
  • Qualified accountant with min 5+ PQE with a recognised accounting body (ACA/ACCA)
  • Proven and demonstrable experience of running group consolidated reporting and production of management accounts
  • FX experience
  • Strong technical accounting skills
  • Proven experience of working with stock & ability to reconcile between systems
  • Experience of running a month end process with strong financial controls
  • Experience of implementing compliance and process in different jurisdictions
  • Experience and good understanding of FMCG sector having worked for high growth business 
  • Proven ability in managing a team
  • Advanced excel knowledge
  • Problem solver with ability to work to tight deadlines & manage conflicting priorities
And if possible, but not necessary:
  • Experience with Xero and/or Unleashed
  • Familiarity with drinks manufacturing business
  • Fundraising and due diligence involvement 
  • System implementation experience

YOUR COMMITMENT
Your main place of work will be at our office, at Minor Figures UK HQ - Unit 12a, Uplands Business Park, Blackhorse Lane, London, E17 5QJ.

Hours of work will generally be 9.00am – 5:30pm but may vary with workload or by agreement.  Flexibility may sometimes be required due to travel requirements.
