Head of Sales - APAC

Minor Figures is hiring for a Head of Sales to lead all channels including retail grocery, cafes/foodservice and export. This role will enhance and further develop the strategic plan for the APAC sales team, hire and retain talent, and manage all channel P&L’s. This leader will balance between having a nimble and gritty entrepreneurial mindset and being a strategic leader, with the ability to grow the business profitably. This role must show up with energy, positivity and be deeply collaborative.

This is a senior leadership position for a true sales professional with a strong strategic mind-set. You have deep experience in food or beverage sales across multiple channels, with demonstrated experience growing distribution and profitable sales while maintaining authenticity and brilliant customer relationships. You have experience building, leading and coaching teams. You have deep knowledge of distribution strategies and partners, and can successfully look at what's needed for the future, while driving immediate business needs.
  • Setting and owning the long and short-term strategic priorities for the café/foodservice, retail grocery, and export channels
  • Developing channel sales plans in support of organizational strategy and business objectives 
  • Establishing sales objectives and forecasts for each channel and region
  • Achieving or surpassing mutually agreed-upon sales goals 
  • Conducting regular reviews to discuss key accounts, new opportunities, customer issues, competition, industry updates, and new products 
  • Working closely with Operations to continually refine, evaluate and update forecasts as part of the demand planning process.
  • Managing channel trade spend, rebates and promotions, and customer marketing budgets 
  • Identifying and nurturing revenue-generating opportunities.  Build, track and report on pipeline.
  • Collaborating with Marketing on merchandising and product strategies to increase account retention and accelerate growth
  • Building strong customer relationships and support the sales team with joint business planning with our key distribution partners to become a best-in-class partner.
  • Establishing sales targets and bonus structures for individuals that are challenging, rewarding and motivating.
  • Developing a high-performing team, leaning into the teams’ strength and experiences while identifying and developing skill gaps

You’ll be reporting into our APAC General Manager, Jonathan. Our sales team is broken up into 3 channels; retail grocery, café/foodservice and export sales. We are all coffee people and are very immersed in the coffee community nationwide. 

We might be a small team but we truly believe in our product and know how to speak the language of coffee. We like to build lasting relationships within our team as well as with our customers.

Some core skills and experience if you’ll humor us?

  • Significant experience across sales & business development within beverage or food
  • Selling experience in café/foodservice and retail grocery
  • Team management and development
  • Commercially astute and financially literate.
  • Experience with Google Suite, Microsoft, Phocus, Unleashed, preferred

As the Head of Sales for Minor Figures in the APAC, you will be based in Prahran, Melbourne however we embrace flexible working. 

A work schedule of Monday-Friday from 9:00am- 5:00pm with flexibility for trade shows and other work related travel that may occur on weekends.
