Senior Designer

Permanent employee, Full-time · UK

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Senior Designer is part of our global Creative team, responsible for designing and ideating printed and digital assets. This role is pivotal in our pursuit of being the most loved brand on the planet, dreaming up and delivering the wildly creative activities that grow our brand awareness, engagement and love.

Based out of our office in Blackhorse Road, Walthamstow, we are flexible with hybrid working, but to maximise creative collaboration this role will be based in the office at least 3 days a week.
WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
As Senior Designer, we'd love to see your creative influence shine through daily. Here's an overview of how we feel you could make that happen:

  • Responding to briefs from our global marketing and sales teams in a timely and creative manner, that both represents our brand and pushes us to new heights.
  • Ideating and executing creative concepts for large scale marketing campaigns which may include out of home advertising, social media content, digital comms and printed collateral.
  • Art directing photography and videography for our products and campaigns
  • Artworking printed collateral, from event invites to vinyls, packaging to sales collateral.
  • Contributing to regular brainstorming sessions with our Brand and Creative teams.
  • Finding constant sources of inspiration from the worlds of fashion, art and music. Keeping your finger on the pulse in these cultural spaces and bringing the learnings into everything we do at MF.
ABOUT YOUR TEAM
Within our Creative team, you’ll report into our Design Director, Jess, and will work alongside our designers, a project manager and a copywriter. We’re a small and fast-paced team who love working collaboratively and creatively to produce bold and weirdly wonderful work. We’re not interested in conforming to the “usual” way of doing things and instead we value bravery and uniqueness, in our quest to bring joy to everyone who comes across our brand.

Minor Figures is filled to the brim with creative thinkers who are truly passionate about our brand, so the Creative team is a powerful epicentre of that energy!
ABOUT YOU
We'd love to chat to people with relevant experience working within an in-house team or agency environment and have a strong portfolio of work that demonstrates your bravery within design and strategic thinking.

Your experience will range from quickly turning around small assets to working on large scale marketing projects and events. You are well-versed in creating both printed and digital assets and you understand the intricacies of these two worlds.

Ideally, you, our next Senior Designer, will have experience art directing small photoshoots and have a willingness to lean in on set.

You'll be genuinely interested in creating content for social media (video and still assets) and get excited about the fun and fast nature of social media. You have experience with simple animations; a skill that can be utilised for our digital channels, to bring our concepts to life.

We'd love it if you showcased in your application your ability for excellent communicating, a positive can-do attitude and truly see the value of receiving feedback on your work from your teammates, who are creative and passionate about our brand. This is best summed up as having confidence in your work but being flexible when working with others to reach an outcome that completely hits the mark.

We want to bring someone in who loves the buzz of being in the office working with the rest of the team and won’t shy away from things that sit outside your comfort zone.

Finally, you’ll have exceptional knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign/Illustrator/Photoshop). Skills in After Effects, Premiere Pro, Sketch, Figma would also be beneficial.

WHAT’S IT LIKE AT MINOR FIGURES?
The only thing you really need to know about Minor Figures is that we’re all obsessed with coffee. What began with three friends and a conversation on a rooftop in 2014 has since grown into a global team of baristas, analytics, musicians, creatives, activists, operatives, artists, and a whole lot in between. Based mainly across the UK, Australia, and North America, we’re connected by a shared love for specialty coffee - drinking it, making it, and creating the perfect Oat M*lks to pair with it.

Our sustainability ethos guides everything we do. We’re big on creating a positive impact on both people and the planet, which is why we are both carbon neutral and B Corp Certified.

EVERYONE’S INVITED
We’re all about connection and community – both within our team and within the coffee industry as a whole. Every new addition to the Minor Figures fold brings different skills, unique experiences, and fresh perspectives.

The recruitment and hiring process should be 100% authentic, honest, and welcoming for everyone involved. We want to hear all about you and meet you exactly as you are, both inside and outside of work.

In return, we’ll tell you all about what opportunities will be open to you, the challenges we can overcome together, and the way we see your role enriching the team.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We’re always looking to grow our team in the most meaningful way we can. With a focus on collaboration and flexibility, we don’t look to box people in or set rigid processes.

We make sure everyone feels supported bringing their biggest ideas to the table, pushing boundaries, and approaching their work in bold, unconventional ways. As a fast-growing company, every day can feel like the first - the energy is high, we’re always pushing past new challenges, and it’s incredibly rewarding.

We want to hear all about what you’re passionate about, what you’re best at, and what inspires you. You deserve to tell us about who you are, so please, don’t hold back.
